Jitsi is a collection of free and open-source multiplatform voice, video conferencing and instant messaging applications for the web platform, Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS and Android. It is alternative of zoom but its opened source.

You will need

You don’t need anything to use Jitsi, if you don’t have an account still you can start meeting.

No account is needed!

Step By Step Instruction

Step 1: Go to the official site

From https://meet.jit.si/ this URL you can go to the Jitsi website.

If you want to start meeting instantly with a browser without downloading it to your system, then just press the “start” button.

Step 2: Allow to use microphone and camera

Press the pop-up “Allow” as you pressed it will open your camera and microphone.

Step 3: Enter your name and know some tools which will require

  • (1): Enter your name in the inbox.
  • (2): By pressing it will start the meeting
  • (3): By default, your camera and mic are on when you enter the meeting, in order to disable you have to off.

By pressing the icon next to the video icon, you will have these options to invite the meeting links with others.

By pressing the (1): It is basically to set your background, there are many options like if you want to blur, some pre-added images, or you can upload from your system as well.

(2) select anyone, the (3) apply. (4): It is asking for a browser extension, you want then give that permission. (If you are a regular user, we will suggest you gave to take an extension)

Step 4: All set now, start meeting

(1): mic off

(2): video off

(3): For presenting or sharing your screen

(4): chat

(5): Raise your hand during a meeting

(6): Here can see all participants attending the meetings

(7): Toggle the view options

(8): More options.

And many more settings and control you will see, just start using it and explore as much as you can!
